CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
April-May 2008

Adult Classes | Youth Classes | Wednesday Family Fellowship

Adult Christian Education ... Our goal is to provide a well-balanced curriculum which includes studies from the Old Testament, New Testament; topics on aspects of Christian Living, Theology, and a series of classes for Discovers/New Believers. We hope that you will choose to attend a class related to a specific area of study that you would like to learn more about. This system provides opportunities to grow and learn more about God's Word, live a Christian life, gain a deeper understanding of faith and beliefs, and to develop a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. It is our hope that you will also grow in Christian fellowship with others as you study in different areas and meet new people.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY CLASSES
A Purposeful Way of Maturing in Faith and Discipleship"
April-May 2008

The following opportunities are Sunday morning classes that meet to build and deepen our faith and knowledge of God. Each class meets from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

“Understanding the Message of the Bible”

An overview of what the message of the Bible is all about. This class will help you understand how to read various books and passages of the Bible in light of its main message. Is the Old Testament really that much different than the New? Why don’t we follow so much of what is commanded in the Bible? What is the thread that ties all of the books together ? How is God’s plan seen from the first book of the Bible to the last? This is a class for anyone who wants to get a grip on the overall message of the Bible so it will help them in reading it and applying it.

“Just Walk Across the Room”

A class designed to help us learn to talk about our faith with others in a natural way. The class uses the book by the well known pastor of Willow Creek Community Church, Bill Hybels (Just Walk Across the Room). It really isn’t hard to talk about the things important to us, including our faith. We simply need to discover ways that are natural and comfortable to us. A fantastic class to see your faith deepen.

“Amazing Grace”

“What is Reformed Theology and why is it important?” That is the primary question being addressed in this DVD and discussion class. You will hear from some of the most outstanding speakers and theologians in the Reformed faith. If you feel you have a good grasp on the basics of the Bible and Christian faith but would like to understand more about the Reformed perspective in particular, this class is for you. A challenging and thought provoking class!

“Searchers”

This class continues in its exploration of the Old Testament books of Daniel, Haggai & Nehemiah. Anyone is welcome to join in this study of the Old Testament and see how the truths and events given long ago still speak to our lives today.

“Comprehensive Bible Study”

Like the “Searchers” class, this class continues its study of the books of the Bible. For April and May the focus will be on the New Testament books of 1, 2, 3 John and Jude. Those who take this class benefit not only from getting to know the Bible, but also in getting to know one another.

“Women’s Class”

A class provided to give women the opportunity to talk and study the Christian faith with other women. A time of fellowship as well as a time of spiritual nurture. Topics and biblical books under discussion change from quarter to quarter.
