Development Program
 MINISTRY ... Shepherd Road Christian Academy is a ministry of Shepherd
Road Presbyterian Church to its members and the surrounding community. SRCA is a
corporation governed by our Board of Directors and staffed by professionals.
We believe that each child has been created
in a unique way and each child has strengths that God has given them. We want to enrich
the lives of children, as we offer a challenging, yet appropriate curriculum that is
Bible-based. It is our goal to work closely with families and create a bond that will
benefit the children.

MISSION STATEMENT ... Shepherd Road Christian Academy will provide a high quality,
Christian education to young children. Each child's spiritual, emotional, educational, and
physical needs will be enhanced. We believe that a child's greatest need is to grasp the
infant value and the love of God. It is our mission to instill the word of God in
Children, to fuel the spiritual desire, and intimately acquaint them with our Lord. "

 CURRICULUM ... Each child's
individual needs will be met through a "Bible-based, hands on/minds on"
curriculum. Children will be challenged, not frustrated. Students will participate in
developmentally appropriate lessons, Bible story and songs.
Infants and toddlers will spend most of the day in their
developmentally appropriate rooms with their teachers. They will explore in an environment
that will enhance optimum development and have plenty of time for gross motor
practice/movement. Our teacher will be actively involved and in tune with the individual
needs of each child.
 After a transition time (around 24-30 months) and
when the children are developmentally ready they will be given the opportunity to
experience a variety of areas: Bible, Dramatic Play, Art, Music, Readiness, Blocks and
Cooking. Each child will experience Math, Science, Reading, Journaling, Listening Sills,
Art, Physical fitness, and Music/Movement. We are striving to form a program that
encourages your child, builds self-esteem and provides numerous learning opportunities
each day. We want our students to love coming to school and to form that lifelong love of
Learning.

 STAFF ...
Our staff is composed of educated, highly trained Christian teachers that are dedicated to
providing quality, loving care to each child. We have extremely high morals/standards and
love to teach God's children. Our teachers and teacher assistants are highly qualified.
SRCA provides many opportunities for teachers to share ideas and grow professionally. All
employees must complete background checks. Employees must also complete staff development
training each year.

licensed by the Association of Christian Schools International. We integrate standards set
by The National Association of education for Young Children and incorporate Core Knowledge
