OUR MINISTRY ... At Shepherd Road Christian Academy we believe that a child's greatest need is to grasp the infinite value and love of God. We are a ministry of Shepherd Road Presbyterian Church to its members and the surrounding community. Our mission is to instill the word of God in children, to fuel spiritual desire, and intimately acquaint them with our Lord, so that they might grow to treasure Him as the One who satisfies their hearts.

CURRICULUM ... Shepherd Road Christian Academy desires to enrich the lives of children through a challenging, yet developmentally appropriate curriculum that is Bible based and Christ centered. Our curriculum has been designed so that each child will be engaged in age appropriate activities that are supported by their developmental readiness. Each child will be offered individualized opportunities for success through math, science, reading, journaling, music, art & drama. Infants and toddlers will be engaged in activities designed to strengthen their motor skills, social skills and cognitive development. Our curriculum will enrich each child's knowledge of the Bible and exalt God as the source and purpose for all things.

OUR STAFF ... Our staff at SRCA is composed of highly trained teachers dedicated to the development and growth of the whole child. Teachers have work experience in the training and care of children. Teachers are either certified in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and/or have received their CDA certification. Each employee must complete the State mandated childcare training, First Aid, CPR, fingerprinting and background checks. In addition, there are required staff development training workshops each year and in-services each month. Each staff member of SRCA is a New Testament believer and strives to live as a disciple of Christ.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Daily Schedule
Before Care: 7:00 - 8:30 am
Preschool: 8:30 - 12:00 noon
After Care: 12:00 - 4:00 pm
Extended Care: 4:00 - 6:00 pm

SRCA enrolls children from infants to 5 year olds. In order for 2 year olds to move from the nursery program to the preschool program they must be potty trained. Research supports individualized attention and proves interaction is beneficial to children, therefore, we maintain a low "teacher to child" ratio.

Shepherd Road Christian Academy is licensed by the Association of Christian Schools International. We integrate standards set by The National Association of Education for Young Children and incorporate Core Knowledge for the Preschool Child.
