SRPC
MINISTRY TEAMS
Administration
Team
Purpose: The Administration Team, or Admin Team, serves
the ministry of SRPC by assisting the staff, providing focused attention
to the administration of the SPRC human resources, office
procedures, guidelines and the continuous improvement of office
practices. The work of each team member, and the amount of time required
to participate, will be balanced with that's person's gifts, talents,
and time availability. Meetings are generally held the first Wednesday
of each month.
Campus
Care and Maintenance Team
Purpose: To oversee the maintenance of our grounds, facilities and
equipment with attention being carefully given to appearance, efficiency
and economy ... As a member of the Campus Care Ministry Team you have
the opportunity to share your time and talents with overseeing the
maintenance of the grounds, facilities and equipment of Shepherd Road
Presbyterian Church, to the glory of God. Serving with other members, we
are all able to share our gifts such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing,
electrical, painting, grounds maintenance, or just helping with whatever
the task may be. Some of the Team's other responsibilities are the
coordination of two work days - one in the Spring and the other in
October, just prior to Friend Day. These work days are filled with fun
and fellowship doing God's work as we care for the blessings God has
given us in the property and facilities of SRPC ... Meetings: The Campus
Care and Maintenance Team's regularly scheduled meetings are the first
Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Christian
Education Team
Purpose: The Christian Education Team works to provide the best
education program for our Sunday School and Wednesday evening classes
... Adult Christian education opportunities are designed to provide a
Biblical education that will build and deepen our faith and knowledge of
God. Studies are designed to strengthen one's faith in Christ and to
build Christian character and conduct while in fellowship with other
adults. Children and youth Christian education opportunities are
designed to teach about the Word of God, the love of God, and living a
Christian life through faith in Jesus Christ. Classes are designed to
teach Old and New Testament scriptures along with life applications, and
to promote fellowship with other children ... Meetings: The Christian
Education Team meets at least once per quarter. Members review curricula
for both adult and children's programs, seek opportunities for training
teachers, and provide long-term planning for quality Biblical and
theological offerings for all educational programs of the church.

Compassion
Team
Purpose: The Compassion Team strives to provide support and comfort to
those in need in our church family through cards, telephone calls and
hospital visits. We also serve as an outreach ministry to people in our
community in need of support and comfort ... The Compassion Team
develops a list of people each week for cards to be sent to. The list is
developed from requests for prayer, names given to the pastor, word of
mouth, and from the church bulletin. Compassion Team leaders call and/or
e-mail Team members with names and addresses of those in need of
comforting. Team members send cards to as many people as they are able
to for the week. If you have a desire to serve, a desire to support
those in need, and a compassion and concern for brothers and sisters in
Christ, then this is for you ... Meetings: Team leaders meet every
Tuesday morning to develop that week's list of names. They then contact
their Team members to provide names and addresses of people who are to
receive cards.

with meals that feed not only their bodies, but their need to reach out
to others. We make new friends and enjoy "catching up" in
others' lives ... The Fellowship Team is committed to use our time and
energy to serve God's people. We plan our event calendar. We choose
menus and ways to pique interest and "tummies". Food is a
great way to bring people together. It's challenging and fun to be
creative ... Meetings: We meet every two months to plan each luncheon,
picnic, yard sale, Friend Day and other celebrations. We are flexible in
scheduling. Your time is valuable and most of us have more
that one commitment. Estimated service times are: Servers (2 hrs.);

Greeters/Ushers
Team
Purpose: Greeters and Ushers are an integral part of Sunday worship. By
welcoming worshippers and attending to the details of the worship
service, this helps create an atmosphere that allows people to
worship in a comfortable, welcoming and joyous atmosphere ... Greeters
are individuals or couples who welcome people as they enter the church
vestibule on Sunday mornings. A friendly handshake and warm smile help
put people at ease and set the tone for a meaningful worship experience.
Greeters are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to worship for a period of
one month ... Ushers welcome people as they enter the sanctuary and
distribute bulletins to attendees. They also distribute attendance
registers and take the offering during the worship service. Ushers are
available to help people with special needs, provide help with
additional seating, monitor the temperature in the sanctuary, and are
available to help with any emergency that might occur during Sunday
worship. In addition, they straighten the sanctuary after every service
... Meetings: The Greeter and Usher does not meet on a regular
basis. There is no significant time commitment outside of the worship
service. Greeters are assigned on a monthly basis. Ushers serve for one
month every quarter (16 weeks per year). All that is needed to serve is
a willingness to greet people with a smile. A servant's attitude is
important, as well as an ability to make people feel welcome and at
ease.
